Larcombe, of Onerabi, Whangarei. Lyall—Oann.—The engagement is announced between Grace, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Cann, of Woodville, and Percy, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lyall, of Te Aroha. Smith—-Butland, —Mr. and Mrs. McCowatt- of Turua, Hauraki Plains, announce the engagement of their only daughter, Joan Elsie Butland (McCowatt), to John Kennedy Smith, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, late of Auckland, now of Te P^ike.
