DRANOEL'S ESCAPADE TOOK NO PART IN PLATE Dranoel gave much trouble when mounted in the birdcage before the Autumn Plate at Riccarton on Monday. He-dislodged his rider, C. Stokes, who later mastered him and gave him his preliminary. The gelding repeated his misbehaviour when pulled tip, and. again getting rid of his rider, careered through the plantation at the back of the course and jumped a wire fence into a paddock. As it was not possible to get him back to the course in time, the field went without him. Dranoel was second to the outsider of the field. He is a four-year-old gelding by Ilobespierre from Hose of Orange.
