YACHT RACING
DEVONPORT CLUB'S EVENTS TREVie SHIELD CONTEST The yacht-racing season in Auckland, which was suspended owing to the Easter holidays, will be resumed on Saturday afternoon, when harbour and cruising races' will bo held by the Devonpoit Yacht Club. The 18ft. and under classes will compete over harbour courses and the . inifliet boats and keel yachts will take part in a cruising race. In addition to the usual events for small classes, the Deroupprt Club will also hold the annual inter-club race for the Trevic Shield for class Z boats on Saturday. The official closing of the season will be held on Saturday, week, when combined harbour and cruising races will be held under the control of the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association.
The Tamaki Yacht Club will bold a race for 18ft. classes for the Watson Bay trophy on April 29, and also a harbour race for model yachts. ( The follownig day, the Point Chevalier Sailing Club will hold a series of races for all classes. The Takapuna Boating Club will hold a series of races off the clubhouse, Ba.vswater, on May 7. The programme will include the annual contests for the GoodfelloWship Cups between crews representing the Ponsonby, Manukau. and Tamaki Clubs. »
