WELLINGTON TITLE SUCCESS OF - HORNABROOK [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON. Tuesday J. P. Hornabrook defeated H. A. Black, 5 and 4, in the final of the Wellington provincial amateur golf championship. Hornabrook did some amazing putting and finished the last five holes in two under .par. It was Hornabrook's fourth win, his previous successes being in 1832, 1035 and .193(3. Black had several early putting lapses nnd thereafter was never given any latitude by Hornabrook, whose form throughout the tournament was of a high standard. OTAHUHU CLUB'S COMPETITION The Otahuhu Golf Club played a medal competition, the best cards being returned as follows-A. R. Jones, 75, 9—66; A. Bullen, 76, 6—70.
