TRANSPORT ELECTION
NOMINEES FOR BOARD * SIXTEEN ALREADY SELECTED Sixteen candidates already have been nominated for tho 10 seats on the Auckland Transport Board, although nominations do not close until next Wednesday. The election will be held on May 3. Of those so far nominated, ten are candidates put forward by the Auckland Citizens and Ratepayers' Association, representing tho full ticket covering the three constituencies in the Transport Board's area. Of the remainder, four are Labour nominees and two are independent candidates. The following are the candidates so far nominated, Citizens' nominees being indicated by (C) and Labour selections by (L): — No. 1 Constituency (City Area; six members). —Messrs. J. A. C. Allum (C), R. Armstrong (L), A. S. Bailey (C), C. E. Clarke (C), Mrs. M. M. Dreaver (L), Messrs. R. S. Judson (C), J. H. Kinnear (C), Miss E. Melville (C), Messrs. J. W. Payne, and J. Sayegh (L).
No. 2 Constituency (Mount Eden, Mount Albert and NeAvmarket; two members). —Messrs. H. A. Anderson (C), W. H. Nagle (C), C. J. Matthew (L) and E. H. Potter. No. 3 Constituency (Onehunga, One Tree Hill, Ellerslie, Mount Roskill, Mount Wellington, Panmuro, Mangere; two members). —Messrs. A. J. Pearce (C) and E. V. Sutherland (C); Messrs. Allum, Anderson, Nagle and Sayegh aro sitting members of the board, and Mr. Potter is a former member.
