However, the track is likely to be yielding, but is rapidly drying. I Mr. H. D. Greenwood is considering taking Defaulter to Brisbane for the King's Plate, run over ten furlongs at Ascot on April 29. SYDNEY PREPARATIONS THE TRUMP OUTSTANDING DEFAULTER AND DISDAIN SYDNEY, April 7 The final gallops for the Australian Jockey Club Autumn carnival were staged yesterday morning, all the .courses being heavy. At Roseberry, on tlie inside grass, The Trump ran (seven furlongs in 1.32.J, an outstanding gallop. The Trump, who was ridden by A. Reed, his rider in the Doncaster Handicap, finished we'd. Defaulters (L. J. Ellis) ran a mile in 1.44J, and came home the last six furlongs with Disdain (A. Reed) in 1.16 J. It was a very impressive gallop. Gold Rod (McCarten) took 1.17 for six furlongs, lie went, fast early, but eased slightly at the finish." Pageant, who ran a mile in 1.46, is a little .sore.

At Band wick, on a grass track, Malagigi, L'Aiglon and Janbaz strode over njne furlongs together in 2.3 J. Maligigi is improving rapidly. llespirator ran six furlongs in 1.20. High Caste and Avant Tout covered five furlongs in 1.45, Mosaic taking 1.4. Mild lira- and Spear Chief both went well in completing six furlongs together in 1.19.
