«■ i FAIR TO FINE AND MILD MORNING MISTS PROBABLE, The weather report and forecast for New Zealand issued by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows:—Pressure is high and anticvelonic conditions still prevail over the New Zealand area, while ft depress sion covers south-eastern Australia., The forecast is for light to moderate but variable winds,_ with south-eafit to nort-east predominating and later freshening somewhat. slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate soijth-east to north-east winds, later freshening and tending more northerly; seas slight to moderate, but later rising in the south. Much low cloud is probable, with mist or fog and possibly drizzle at many places, especially in the morning, but the weather otherwise is likely to be fair to fine and mild to warm. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST FAIR AND WARM GENERALLY The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Light to moderate southeast to north-east winds. Considerable low cloud is probable t and in places mist or fog, especially in the mornings but the weather otherwise is likely to be fine and warm. Seaa slight to, moderate. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER .Auckland. —Conditions during the day were cloudy and fine, with a light and variable wind. The maximum. tem>« perature was 74 degrees and the mink mum 65 degrees. At 3.30 p.m. tho barometer reading was 30.194 in. Christchurch.—Tho weather was fina and hot, the sun shining continuously from the middle of the morning. A light south-west wind blew all day. Tho barometer at 5 p.m. recorded 30,201 in, and was falling slowly.

Dunedin.—Heavy foe enveloped tho_ city in the morning, but lifted later alncl the sun shone brightly. Toward evening the fog again came down and misty rain fell.
