UNINTENDED INJUSTICE
CRITICISM OF INSPECTOR CONTROL OF ROAD TRAFFIC [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CARTERTON, Friday At yesterday's meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council there was a discussion in committee of Mr. A. Reid's complaint concerning the "bullying and overbearing manner" of a traffic inspector. In an explanation given by Mr. Reid he said that . the seriousness of the position had arisen through remarks which were made under a misapprehension, the incident being sent to all papers by the Press Association, when the burden of the text was not the considered opinion of the council, which only asked the inspector not to be overbearing in manner. As an unintended injustice had been done to the officer ho regretted having expressed himself in such a manner, and was sorry if the inspector had been hurt personally. A copy of the statement had been sent to the commissioner and the inspector.
