NUMEROUS RECRUITS
ROYAL AIR FORCE PROGRESS IN PRODUCTION British Wireless LONDON, Feb. 22 The Air Council states that a satisfactory response to tiie call for recruits for the Royal Air Force has resulted in the personnel; authorised being almost reached at the present date. In order to permit the present level of recruiting to be maintained it is desired that the maximum may bo increased to 102,000. It is also stated that, since the supplementary estimate in July last, greater progress than was then expected has been made in the deliveries of air frames and engines, the construction of stations and factories, in passive defence and the extension of balloon barrages. New supplementary estimates for the air services provide for an additional 6000 men, £3,132,000 for aircraft and balloon barrages, and £'2.313,400 for works, buildings and lands. The total net expenditure provided for is £79.901,000.
An appropriation of £300,000 is for supplying part of the aircraft required for the re-equipment of the Royal Air iorce in India.
