MARRIAGE IN ENGLAND [from our own correspondent] •LONDON, Feb. 2 The wedding took place this week of Flight* Lieutenant" H. L. Piper, formerly of Akaroa, chief test pilot to Alessrs. Short and Harland, Belfast, and Aliss L. A. Chalk, of Alcopham, Kent. They were entertained afterward at Rochester by directors and friends from Short Brothers' aircraft works, where the bridegroom was formerly second test pilot. A telegram of good wishes was received from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, Air. AV. J. Jordan. Formerly of tho Royal Air Forco, in 1930 Flight-Lieutenant Piper ilew from Croydon to Sydney, in 1937 he competed in the King's Cup Air race, and with Captain J. Lankester Parker lie took part in the test flights ot tho Alayo composite aircraft last year.
