ROUND BY GLEN ABB PASTURE PERFORMS WELL CHELANDRY DISPLAYS DASH An attractive round by Glen Abb and smart gallops by Chelandry, Miss Appellant, Tooley Street and Pasture were features of tlie training operations at Ellerslio yesterday, when the No. 1 grass track provided fast going. On the grass Chelandry (Gilchrist) dashed over half a mile in 49 l-ss, the first furlong in 12 3-ss. Chelandry 's carrying an improved appearance and has been doing her work well. Silver Qucx (Gilchrist) was clear of Bronze Emerald (Cammick) after completing half a mile in 50s. Electric Spear (Ritchio) was much better than Jolie Dance (Coon) over a round in 1.55 2-5.

Aero King (Gilchrist) was slightly in front of Trcvace (Home) at the end of five furlongs in 1,4, the last halfmile taking 50s. Land Court (Poi) and Wild Aero (Kearns) sprinted half a mile in 51s. V Mintlaw- Moves Freely Elise (Cameron) and Mintlaw (Coon) went five furlongs, going steadily over the first two and completing the last three in 39 3-ss. Mintlaw moved freely and is an improver who may soon add to his record. Fleetwind (Gilchrist) was better than Red Falcon (Vaughan) over threo furlongs in 37 l-ss. Glen Abb (Gilchrist) went pleasingly over a round in 1.49, running the last mile in 1.41 3-5. It was a sound gallop and Glen Abb should not bo without a chance in the Hcrrics Memorial Cup if ho repeats the form. Royal Abb (Coon) assisted him over the last seven furlongs in 1.29 2-5, the last half-mile in 50s.

Miss Appellant (Gilchrist) and Tooley Street (Poi) reeled off six furlongs in 1.15 3-5, the first three in 37 3-ss. Miss Appellant was in front at the finish, but Tooley Street was going strongly. Half-Mile by Summary

Summary (Jenkins) came home from the half-mile post in 50s, a useful effort as she carried a good weight. Captain Bruce (Cammick) strode over a round in 2.7, the last half-mile in 58 l-ss. Royal Message (Sargent) beat Norse Lady (Gilchrist) over live furlongs in 1.5, the last half-mile taking 51s. Pasture (Gilchrist) 1.3, the last half-mile in 48 4-ss. Pasture is fit and worked well.

On the tan Knight of Australia ran the last six furlongs of useful work in 1.24 4-5. Marheke ran five furlongs in 1.10 3-5, the last three in 40 3-ss. Windcress (Smith) was holding Baldric (Cameron) at the end of a round in 1.56 2-5, the last half-mile in 555. Mai de Mer (Sinton) and Shy (Nicolson) jumped two pony hurdles twice without making a mistake. Afterward Shy was sent over two bigger ones. The course proper 25ft. out from the rails and the plough track provided good going.

On the course proper, Rothoon (McKenzie) ran five furlongs in 1.8, the first lialf-mile of which occupied 53 2-ss. Kittle (Ensor), who is to contest jumping events at Te Aroha, strode over a round in 2.6 1-5. As she was idling in the early' stages, the effort was commendable and she should strip in good fettle for her engagements.

Midland (Telford), who is maintaining his condition, hit out over five furlongs in 1.6 1-5. Midland ran consistently well at the Waikato meeting and he may enter the winning lists at Te Aroha.

Susan (C. McKenzie) got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.37, her initial five furlongs occupying 1.9 2-5. She has benefited by racing Tosh in Good Fettle

Tosh (Watson), who has seldom looked better than at present, was under a firm hold over the first halfmile of five furlongs, speeding up to run the final furlong in 12s. Stansted (Long), who is ,to reappear among the hurdlers on Saturday, ran once round in 2.3 3-5 —a useful trial for a horse of his class.

Moving off from Ntho five-furlong post, Miss Clipper (Long) ran her final half-mile in 52 4-ss. She is making progress.

The four-year-old Rosomao (Conroy) sprinted three furlongs along the back in 355. She ran her first furlong in 11 4-ss. tin) second in 11 l-5s and was pulling up over the last furlong, which occupied 12s. It was the fastest trial over the distance recorded on the track for some time.

Do Friend (Thomson) and Kena (Long) were associated over a round. They finished practically on terms in 2.1 4-5, doing their work well. Kena gave the impression that ho has improved by racing. Trials on the Plough

On the plough, Rollicker (Goulsbro) ran half a mile in 51 l-ss, time on which he could have improved. He promises to strip in splendid fettle at To Aroha. Diversity (Ensor) ran an easv half-mile in 565.

The best half-mile of the morning on this track was that of Meadow (MeICenzie) and Friskland (light boy), who recorded 50 2-ss. Meadow, who narrowly missed a placo in the Eureka Handicap on Monday, will bear in^Malagigi (Goulsbro) impressed in a round run in 1.49 4-5. ITb is to eontest the Herries Memorial Cup and should show to better advantage than at Te Rapa.

Awhiowhio (Long) and To Morehu (McKonzie) were companions over a round, but were easing up to a walkto record 1.54 3-5. Sergia, who is in excellent condition, worked over a couple of rounds. An interesting schooling exhibition was given by Mio Fratollo (H. Turner), who, after jumping four pony hurdles, was sent over four of the larger obstacles and acquitted himself well.
