Mr. W. B. Darlow, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, returned from Wellington by the limited express yesterday morning.
Major S. H. Crump, of Army Headquarters, Wellington, who has been visiting Auckland, returned South by the limited express yesterday.
Dr. C. R. Burns, chief of the divj. siou of medicine at the Auckland Publio Hospital, returned from the South by the limited express yesterday.
Major R. G. Byron, military seere. tarv to the Governor-General, and Mr. J. H. James, secretary, left for the South by the limited express last night.
The Rev. H. T. Peat, of Upper Hutt, has been appointed senior chaplain of the Methodist Church of New Zealand by the annual conference of the Church.
Lord Runciman, who will arrive at Wellington on April 3 on a holiday visit to New Zealand, will be the guest of-the Government during the time he is in the Dominion. He will leave from Auckland on April 18.
Dr. L. Ludbrook left by the limited express last night on his way to Christchurch, where he will attend a meeting of the British Medical Association. He will later go to Dunedin to conduct examinations at the Otago University medical school.
Mr. F. T. M. Kissel, chief electrical engineer for the Public Works Department, who has been attending the annual conference at Auckland of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers, returned to Wellington by the limited express last night.
The Rev. W. T. Blight was a passenger for Wellington by the limited express last night to join the Maunganui for Melbourne. Mr. Blight, who has been resident tutor at the Trinity Theological College, intends spending u year in Victoria and on his return wilt take up circuit work in the Methodist Church.
Major-General J. E. Duigan. Chief of the General Staff, has left Wellington for Waiouru to inspect tine Third Field Battery, and the Eighth Battery, New Zealand Artillery, the Second Com. posite Company of the Infantry Battalion, and the Second Field Company of New Zealand Engineers. He wiil later go on to Rotorua to inspect the Northern District First Field Company, New Zealand Engineers, in training there, and will return to Wellington early next week.
