WOMAN AND GIRL ASSAULTED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORXE, Monday Sentence of four months' imprisonment w«s imposed on each of four Maoris who appeared before justices of the peace at Hicks Bay on charges of assaulting two women. Accused were Paparangihua Houkaumau, aged 24, Hera Houkaumau, aged 22, Rewiri McClatchie, aged 21, and Hetn Edwards, aged 20. Detective McWhirter stated that accused had gone to the house of a Maori woman, aged 80, assaulted her and also a young woman of 18*.
