PIRATE SHIP CARNIVAL
A drop curtain depicting a typical beach scene, complete with a model of a life-saving reel and flying pennant, were appropriate decorations at the Pirate Ship Cabaret, at Milford, on Saturday night, when the surf teams at present visiting Auckland were the guests of the management. More than GOO people were present, but„with the two decks available for dancing, there was adequate accommodation. Items by the cabaret orchestra of six instruments included many popular airs, and insistent demands for encores met with a generous response. Excellent transport" arrangements and the cool air conditioning apparatus were other features which helped to make the carnival dance a great success.
