TRADE AGREEMENT

CANADA-UNITED STATES IMPORTANCE EMPHASISED OTTAWA, Feb. 15 In opening a debate in the House of Commons on the question of the ratification of the trade treaty with the United States, the Prime Minister, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, said Canadian co-operation had made possible the 'most important agreement of modern times, which was a great contribution to better relations among nations.

Defining Canada's trade policy, Mr. Mackenzie King asserted that the Dominion was committed to developing freer trade relations with countries with which there could be no question of disturbance of good political relations. She was always ready to add to these countries others whose politics were guided by the same democratic ideals.
