SHAG'S MEAL OF TROUT
While liberating pheasants on the banks of the Waipa River Mr. Murray Pratt, the local representative of> the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, shob a shag. When the bird was opened five fresh trout over sin. in length' were found. Allowing four such meals a day a shag would account for 20 fish each day.
