TELEGRAPH DEVELOPMENT

The installation of a multi-channel voice frequency telegraph system, such as is at present in use between Wellington and Christchurchj is being undertaken between Wellington and Blenheim and between Auckland and Wellington. The latter equipment will probably be completed by the end of this month, and will give six telegraph channels in each direction while still allowing for three telephone channels between tho two centres over tho same pair of wires. _ Over the six telegraph channels it will bo possible to provide another four channels of the multiplex telegraph.
