OBITUARY
MR. C. D. JENKINS - [by telegram—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Tuesday The death has occurred at Maketu of Mr. Claude Davenport Jenkins, aged 68. Mr. Jenkins, who was born°at Auckland, was associated with much of tho survey work in the Mantaku district over 40 years ago. He took up ft large block of land at Pongakawa, which he farmed until three years a<ro. He was a member of the'Tauranga County Council and the Tauranga Hospital Board. He is survived ,by Mrs. Jenkins and two daughters. v " '•% mr. John ems Worth [BY IELKGHAPH —OWN COIUIKSI'ONDENt] G"REYMOUTH, Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. John Emsworth, aged 53. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, Mr. Emsworth, as a young man, went to Australia, where for many years he was a well-known member of the theatrical profession, both as an actor and as a producer. He toured New Zealand on many occasions. In 1928 Mr. Emsworth came with his wife to New Zealand to live, and, mostly with J. C. .Williamson companies, he visited many towns in the Dominion. In later years lie-entered the picture theatre management business and came to Greymouth four years ago as manager of "a local theatre. He is survived by his wife and two eons and two daughters.
