"STUNT" MEN AT SHOW

EXPERTS IN HORSEMANSHIP SERIES OF ' DARING FEATS As a special attraction for the duration of the Auckland summer show, to bo held at Epsom 011 February 24 and 20, the Auckland Agricultural* and Pastoral Association has brought to the city two "stunt" men who will give special displays. They are an American, '-'Daredevil" Frank McFarlane, and an Australian, Fred Yeomans, whose equipment includes specially-trained horses.

Well known in the United States and Canada, where he has competed and given displays of horsemanship and feats of daring at many rodeos and fairs, McFarlane recently visited Melbourne, where lie thrilled large crowds with his performances. He has three horses with him, and these play a prominent part in his acts. Hiding in Roman fashion, standing on the backs of two horses, McFarlane will jump over a parked motor-car, in the course of his display. He will also jump the horses in sinjil'ar fashion over a flaming hurdle, this being performed with the horses bare-backed. In addition, with his horse Tarzan, he will perform the "cowboy's last ride," an act in which the horse displays remarkable intelligence in saving his master, who has been wounded and is unable to- ride home.

Champion rough-rjder of Australia, Yeomans will challenge all-comers to a contest. Ho is also a stockwhip export, and will give displays in which lie will flick corks from bottles with his whip, gently take a cigarette from an assistant's mouth, and perform evolutions with a 60ft. whip., He is known throughout Australia as one of the few men capable of handling the once-popular long whips. The displays by the two men will conclude with a spectacular race between them. Each will bo mounted Roman fashion on two horses, and they will race over half a mile.
