DISCLOSURE OF SOURCE CLAUSE IN BRITISH ACT AMENDMENT BY GOVERNMENT CAREFUL CONSIDERATION By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 10, G. 15 p.m.) British Wireless LONDON, Feb. 0 The Government will introduce a bill in the House of Lords next week to amend section six of the Official Secrets Act. The Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, announced in the House of Commons that the decision had been reached after careful consideration.
Section six, which deals with the provisions requiring persons who come into possession of official secrets to disclose the, source, has been the subject of considerable criticism among journalists' organisations and civil liberty societies as threatening the freedom, of the press.
