GOOD SPORT" IN NORTH [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Friday Particularly good fishing has been experienced on the Bay of Islands big game fishing grounds this week, 19 fish having so far been landed. These comprise a black marlin, 14 striped nmrlins and four niako sharks. The majority of the fish have been caught in the vicinity of Bird ,l?ock and Piercv Island. Two makos weighing 2801b. and 29Slb. were caught "at the Cavalli Islands by Captain I<\ \Y. Voelcker, of Kerikeri.
CATCHES AT WHANGAROA STRIPED MARLINS LANDED [by tei.kchavh—own cobrkspondent] WHANGAROA, Friday After a fiffht lasting 50 minutes Miss Olive Graham, who is lishing at Whangaroa, landed a striped marlin weighing 25611). A striped marlin weighing 2531b. was caught hv Dr. D. Law* rente, of To Aroha. Dr. R. L. Sutton, ol' Kansas City, also caught a striped marlin of 2501b. after playing the tish slightly over half an hour. A» tine hammerhead shark of :5501b. was taken by Mr. I?. L. Stevens, of Te Aroha, after a two-hour struggle near Stephenson's Island.
