SEVERE INJURY SUFFERED [nv TKM'X.HAI'It—OWN CORKKSI'ONDKXT] WIIAK AT AN E, Tuesday A severe injury was received by Mr. S. Barnett, oi : Tane.it.ua, when ho was impaled on tho stump of a tree branch. Ho was picking fruit and was climbing among the branches of a tree when tho limb on which ho was standing broke. Ho grasped another and attempted to swing down to the ground, but was caught by the broken end of the first branch. Ho managed to free himself and ..later • was operated on at the Whakatane Hospital. His condition is not seriou*.
