Sir William Hunt arrived from Well-' ington yesterday and is at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. R. E. Price, Conciliation Commissioner, was a passenger for Wellington by the limited express last night.
Mr. W. S. Goosman, M.P. for Wai. kato, arrived in Auckland yestercay accompanied by Mrs. Goosman. They are at the Hotel Cargen.
Mr. Louis Monod, secretary, of the Royal Agricultural Society, Melbourne arrived at Bluff by the Maungiinui on Sunday for a tour of New Zealand.
Mr. D. McKay, Government audit inspector at New Plymouth, has been transferred to Auckland on promotion and will take up his duties nest week!
Mr. J. Wray, managing director in Australia and New Zealand of the In. ternational Correspondence Schools will arrive from Sydney by the Wanganella.
Mr. W. D. Armit, whose appointment as land purchase inspector in the Lands and Survey Department was recently announced, was a passenger for Wellington by last night's express.
Mr. G. 0. Pratt, architect to the British Department of Overseas Trade, will arrive at Wellington early in Feb. ruary to supervise work on the United Kingdom pavilion at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition.
Mr. A. Suter, works manager for the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, left for Wellington by yes. terday afternoon's express to attend conciliation proceedings in the Dominion dispute in the freezing industry.
Mr. W. E. Sill; secretary of the Auckland Abattoir Assistants and Freezing Works Employees' Union, left for Wellington by train yesterday to appear as advocate at the Conciliation Council meeting in the Dominion freezing works dispute.
Mr. A. Grayson, a member of the council of the Automobile Association (Auckland) left for Wellington by the limited express last night. He was joined at Frankton by Mr. F. G. Farrell, president, who has been spending a holiday at Rotorua.
Lieutenant-Colonel D. Spencer-Smith arrived at Wellington bv the Tamaroa from London last week. He was attached to the New Zealand Forces as a member of the staff of General Sir Alexander Godley for some time after the latter's appointment in 1910 as general officer commanding.
Mr. F. G. G. Peake, of the staff of the National Museum, Melbourne, has been appointed by the Otago University Council to the position of keeper of the department 'of zoology in the Otago Museum. After graduating M.A. at Oxford, -Mr. Peake was for three years zoologist to the Norwich Museum.
