Hooper 43). Bowling: H. Andrews three for 44, B. Andrews four for 12. Kaipara Flats. First innings, 151 (B. Andrews 58 not out, J. Mainland 3S). Bowling: K. Hooper three for 31, V. Dyer two for none, L. Gush two for 49, N. Blackburn two for 38. The Glorit-Matakana match, played at Glorit, resulted in a draw. Scores:; —Matakanaj First innings, 257 (W. Dunning 90. R. WHANGAREI CONTESTS [from our owx correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday The feature in the senior competition of the Whangarei Cricket Association on Saturday was tne defeat of the leading team, Onerani, by Combined Services. Onerahi made 220 in its first innings and only 84 in its second (F. Drake 33, McKoy 21). Services made 156 in its first innings (Saul 48 not out. Williams 21, Provan '2l). In its second innings, Services made 149 for five wickets (Batten 03, Williams 50, Weston 29). Bov.ling for Services, Menzies took three wickets for 26 runs and Power three for 27 while for Onerahi, in Services first innings, Hewlett took four wickets for 46 and Fyfe three for 16. The scores registered in the WhangarciNomads match were the highest in Whangarei cricket this season. Whangarei, in its first innings, made 348 for nine wickets, declared (C. Nisbet 71, R. Masters 62, R. Jennings 46, A. Angelo 38, H. Wilson 30). Nomads put 297 on the board for the loss of nine wickets in its first innings and had made 80 for the loss of four wickets in its second innings, when time was called. Bowling for Whangarei, Jennings took two wickets for 6 runs in Nomads' second innings. The match resulted in a first-innings win for Whangarei.
