< ".7 [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] THAMES, Thursday The president of the Thames Chamber of Commerce, Mr. K. S. Hetherington, reported at a council meeting that an assurance that the reticulation of the Thames coast with electricity would be begun in February had been given him by the secretary-manager of the Thames Valley Electric-Power Board. The position regarding the post omce exchange at Tliames_ and the provision of direct toll facilities with Auckland was again raised. The PostmasterGeneral, the ■Hon. F. Jones, is to be written to : emphasising the need for the provision of the new exchange, also direct toll communication between Thames and Auckland.
