HOLIDAY TOURNEYS PROVINCIAL ARRANGEMENTS DRAW FOR COUNTRY WEEK Entries for the provincial cricket tournament at Eden Park have been received from North Auckland, Auckland Suburban, Waikato, Poverty Bay and the Auckland Association's representatives. The following draw has been made: — Monday, December 2(s.—Waikato v. North Auckland, Suburban v. Auckland, Poverty Bay a bye. Tuesday, December 27. —Waikato v. Suburban, North Auckland v. Poverty Bay, Auckland v. H. C. Watson's Colts. Wednesday, December 28.—Waikato v. Poverty Bay, North Auckland v. Auckland, Suburban v. H. C. Watson's Colts. Thursday, December 29. —Suburban v. North Auckland, Poverty Bay v. Auckland, Waikato a bye. Friday, December 30.—Waikato v. Auckland, Poverty Bay v. Suburban, North Auckland a bye. The two leading teams will play a twoday game on December 31 and January 2 to decide the tournament winner, and matches for the other sides will be arranged if desired. Points will bo awarded as in the Auckland Cricket Association's competitions. The hours of play will bo:—10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 1.15 p.m. to 3.45 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Members of the country committee of the Auckland Cricket Association (Messrs. IT. E. Warnoford, E. R. Sutherland and R. Blennerhassctt) will be joint managers of the tournament. In addition to two matches to be played daily at the Domain in the Country Week tournament for sub-associations, therfc will be two one-day fixtures on Monday and Tuesday between another Auckland colts eleven and the combined colleges. The draw is:— Monday, December 26.—Selwyn-Oraka v. Pukekohe, Hamilton v. Rodney, Auckland side v. Auckland secondary schools. Tuesday, December 27.—Selwyn-Oraka v. Hamilton, Pukekohe v. Rodney, Auckland side v. Auckland secondary schools. Wednesday, December 28. —Selwyn-Oraka v. Rodney, Pukekoho v. Hamilton. Thursday, December 29.—Same as for December 20. Friday, December 30.—Same as for December 27. Saturday, December 31. —Same as for December 28. Points for the Hellaby Shield (held by Selwyn-Oraka, Pukekohe) will be awarded as in the Auckland Cricket Association's championship matches. The hours of play will be:—lo a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; 1.30 p.m. to 3.45 p.m.; 4 p.m. to 0 p.m. The Country committee of the Auckland Cricket Association is arranging the management for the carnival, with Mr. Ivan Cooper in charge. BRABIN CUP TEAM The Auckland junior representative cricket team to play Wellington for the Brabin Cup at North Shore next Monday will have a practice game against an Auckland side at Eden Park to-morrow afternoon. Burrett (High School). Twelfth man: h. Iwohi 11 (Karaka). DEATH OF MR. CHERRY [by telegraph —press association] DUNEDIN, Thursday A well-known Otago representative cricketer, Mr. Keg. Cherry, who was also a former Soccer representative, died this morning, aged 37, following a minor operation Irom which complications ensued. Only last _Saturday he made top score for the Kaikorai Club. Mr Cherry was well known in the Central Otago and Sputhland districts.
