EXPORTS TO BRITAIN '; t DISTRIBUTION WIDENED [BY TELEGRAFH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Thursday "The distribution of butler and cheese in the United Kingdom has been widened by means of direct shipments to the main United Kingdom ports/' states the annual report of the Products Marketing Department. 'Mn/y particular, regular shipments have been . begun to Cardiff, Southampton, Hull * and Newcastlc-on-Tyne. "Over one-third of the Dominion's.-., butter and cheese is now distributed:: from ports other than Loudon, and,--with the exception of ••butter to Glasgow, the shipping programme for 193839 calls for still greater quantities for west coast ports. "The price level of New Zealand butter and cheese has improved substantially during the year in relation to the produce of competing countries y and the disturbing fluctuations in prifce during short periods have been mini ->4 mised," continues the report. "NewZealand in 1937 supplied 31 per centi'l of the total imports oir butter into the t .; United Kingdom, Denmark 24 per cenVf and Australia 16 per cent. In the sajil« year New Zealand supplied 59 per of the total'cheese impoyts into tp&c United Kingdom, Canaoa 25 per and Australia 4 per cent." v *£
