RESIDENTS FAREWELLED

PRESENTATIONS MADE A large number of Europeans and Maoris; from surrounding districts gathered at the Maoris' social hall at Maungatapu to farewell Mr. and Mrs. P. Roche and Miss Shirley Roche. Mr. Roche has been in charge of the Maungatapu school, assisted by Mrs. Roche, for 24 years. Presentations were made by the Maoris and Europeans to both, as well as to Miss Roche', and tributes to the long service of Mr. and Mrs. Roche at the Maungatapu school'and to the help rendered to tho community by them were paid by several speakers.
