WESTFIELI) QUOTATIONS DAIRY VALUES STEADY KEEN DEMAND FOR STORES While the demand for dairy cattle was not unduly pronounced at thf West field weekly stock sale yesterday there was a stondy inquiry for cows and heifers in milk and others close to profit. The yarding was well up to average. Top prices showed a slight decline un last week's values, but the general level of returns was well maintained. The best realisation was £9 10s for Hol-stein-Friesian cows in milk. There was an exceptionally large yarding of stores, including a line of 90 young steers. The entry sold under keen competition and made up to £S 16s for tho best of the 2i-year-old lines. The demand for boner cattle was also firm and, although tho high level of last week for potter bulls was not reached, the values on a quality basis were equally as good. Up to £9 10s was realised for the heavier sorts. The quotations were as follows: —

PUTARURU QUOTATIONS At tho Putaruru sale held by the E'armers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, a full yarding of cattle came forward, comprising a good entry of fat Jersey, Polled Angus and Hereford cows, with a few pens of store Hereford and Polled Angus cows. There was also a medium entry of boner cows and potter bulls. Tho market throughout was steady, with prices remaining on a par with late rales. Pigs: Tho largest yarding of fat pigs seen at Putaruru this season was penned. Competition was keen throughout, all classes selling fully up to lato Frankton rates. Storo and weancr pigs were also penned in large numbers, and here again a good sale resulted.
