KING'S SCHOOL
PERIOD OF PROGRESS TRIBUTES TO FOUNDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP "In the forefront of our minds, especially on such an occasion as this, must be the recent loss of the founder of this school. Mr. C. T. Major," said Mr. J. It. M orris, headmaster of King's School, at the annual prize, giving ceremony yesterday. " I would pay tribute to Ins inspiration during the past two years, and to his driving power ever behind the school." Ho announced that it had been decided to perpetuate the name of the founder by the award of a C. T. Major Memorial Scholarship, which had been made for the first time to D. C. Erson, Archbishop Averill, who presented the class prizes, and Mr. S. J. Hanna, chairman of tho board of governors, also referred to Mr. Major's death. Tho past year had been one of continued progress and internal consolidation, said Mr. Morris. Tho growth in late yoars had been more than maintained and thoir total numbers in the third term stood at well over 200. Outside activities had proceeded with undiminished vigour, and it was satisfactory to see a good all-round standard. Ho commended tho formation of camera, debating and model aeroplane clubs, and concluded by thanking all thoso friends of tho school who had helped by donations and prizes.
