SUCCESS FOR C. E. MALFROY [ V'ROSI OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] LONDON, Nov. 21 Playing with Miss Kay Stammers, the New Zpalauder, C. E. Malfroy, won tho combined doubles at the Torquay lawn tennis tournament. They had three three-set matches on the one day, winning finally by a narrow margin. First, they beat R. Morton and Miss N. B. Brown (ladies' singles finalist), 3—o, o—3,0 —3, 6—l; then, after a shaky start, they accounted for D. W. Butler and Mrs. S. H. Hammerslev, o—o, 6—3, o—4, and finally, they beat Wilde and Miss Scott., 6—l, 6—3, 6—4. Malfroy also reached the semi-finals of the men's doubles, playing with H. Billington. They wer{j beaten by M. D. Deloford (singles finalist), and' C. M. Jones, tj—6, B—fi.
