CANTERBURY REUNION
ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDING The executive committee of the Canterbury Club in Auckland has completed arrangements for the celebration of the foundation of the province and the commemoration of the arrival of the Canterbury pilgrims at Lyttelton on December 16, 1850, the 88th anniversary of which occurrs on Friday. In the afternoon a challenge bowling match against former Otago players has been arranged on, the Mount, Eden green, while in the evening a social reunion'of former Canterbury residents in, Auckland, many of whom 'arc descendants' of the first settlers, will be held in the Y.W.C.A. Hall, * Upper Queen Street.
