CHRISTMAS LAMB

PRESENT PRICES LOWER VALUES AT WESTFIELD Prices for lambs at the Westfield stock sales yesterday failed to reach the levels ruling at this time last year, Celling at 26s a head, which was 4s lower. This was made by a few choice lines only, the average being about 3s to 4s lower. Lamb is usually the most popular meat at this time, being much sought as a seasonal delicacy, and tho low levels reached yesterday were largely the result of an over-supply. The yarding was a heavy one, and the demand at the end of a long sale had slackened considerably, with a consequent easing in values. Some rise in prices is to be expected at the. Christmas market, which is to be held this year on December 20, and with pastures offering good feed after recent rain a large entry is expected.
