SUMMER SCHOOL
[ RECREATIONAL LEADERS ; Y.W.C.A. ARRANGEMENTS With the approval of the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation, a summer school for instruction in recreational leadership will be conducted by the Auckland branch of titie Y.W.C.A. at the University College from January 17 to 31. An intensive course of lectures, _ gymnastics, physical arts and games will be carried out. Theoretical and practical lectures will be delivered on the methodsteaching and organisation of recreational gymnastics, the philosophy of group work and the art of leadership, and also on the new experiments m social work as applicable to the recreational leader. Physical activities to be carried out will include setting-up exercises and movable apparatus work, the modern art dance, fencing, folk dancing, country dancing, coaching and umpiring hints on hockey, basketball, baseball and tennis and minor games and team games. Arrangements will be made for swimming tuition at the Tepid Baths. The staff of the school will comMrs. M.
