GIFT TO CANDIDATE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] DARGAVILLE. Sunday Presentations to Mr. P. MacGregor Stewart, Laftour candidate for the KaipaV'ft scat at the general election, and Mir. S. N. Shockman, secretary of the Kaipara Labour Representation Committee, were made at a smoke concert\ at Dargaville last night. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. W. R. Sanders, said Mr.ls'towart had a difficult task in attempting to win tho Kaipara seat, but had presented his policy in a striking mann&r. Mr. A. yj. Martin, president of the committee, presented Mr. Stewart with h mantel cloak. Mr. Shockiiian was presented by Mr. Martin with )i cheque. He said in his reply that he would donate it to charity in the name of\' the Labour Party.
