WAIROA FAT LAMBS

SHIPMENT BY THE ARAWA SPECIAL TRAIN TO NAPIER [by TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT]! GISBORNE. Thursday To enable a consignment of fat lambs to connect with the Arawu,, which is loading at Napier, arrangements have been made to run a special train from Wairoa to Napier this evening. The consignment will comprise 5000 ordinary carcases and will. be the first shipment of lambs from Wairoa this season. Killing will be continued at the works this week, and a second shipment • of lambs from the district will be made by the Fordsdale from Napier on December 9. This shipment, about 5000 freight carcases, also will be railed to Napier, The Port Sydney will be the first beat to load at Waikokopu this' season and she is due early in January to take about 10,000 freight carcases ; of Wairoa lamb. Chilling of beef for export will commence between Christmas and New Year, The first consignment of 490 quarters is to be railed to Wellington for shipment by the Port Auckland. Chilling from then on will be continued as shipping space is available.
