BRAZEN KING WINS DEAD-HEAT IN THE SPRINT OLD SURREY ANNEXES OPEN GOOD RETURN BY COPY CAT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday Increased investments were again a featuro of the racing on the second and concluding day of the Feilding Jockey Club's Spring Meeting, although the favourites fared poorly, and one winner, Copy Cat, pai(J doublp figures. The principal handicap, tho St. Andrew's, was won by Brazen King, and in tho sprint there w t \s a deadheat between Surmount and Glessamor. In the open seven-furlong event Old Surrey was successful. G. It. Tattersall, rider- of Sporting Gift in tho seventh race, the Nikau Hack, waa reported to the stewards by tho starter and was' suspended for a fortnight under rule 281,' clause 2, relating to unfair tactics at tho barrier.
Tho weather was fniOj although overcast, and tho going , fast. Tho totalisator handled £16,950 lOe for 'the day, against £14,487 last year, making £43,240 for tho meeting, an incraasQ of £8494. Four fresh horses won—Surmount (dead-heat), Varimond, Copy Cat and Old Surrey. ■ j Results:— *

Following tlio running of the St. Andrew's Handicap at Ellcrslio yesterday, the connections of Round Up were given tho opportunity of explaining the horse's reversal of form compared with his effort on the first dny. The stewards unanimously accepted the explanation of the, interested parties as entirely satisfactory.
