GRAND WESTERN TALE
, "Tho Riddlo of Rainbow. Mountain" deals with tho cleaning-up of Hell Hollow, which has to answer for tho murder of ft stage-driver and two Motilities, tho disappearance of a scientist searching for silver-radium ore, and tho death of tho threo deputies who preceded One-Aco Warren. The story is told with a, sure understanding of character and a fine sense of drama. Air. Jiennio has first-hand and extensive knowledge of his subject and the sotting; his tale lias a remarkable atmosphere of probability about it; and his technique is admirable. A minor character supplying excellent "comic relief" is. tho travelling newspaper proprietor with his "sub editors"
