RAILWAY FREIGHTS
FARMERS DISSATISFIED INCREASED RATE ON WOOL [UY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday Dissatisfaction with tho policy adopted by the Railway Department in regard to the cnrriago of farm produco and materials was expressed by a number of delegates at a meeting of the provincial executive of tho Farmers' Union at Danncvirke. As a result a commercial representative of tho department is to bo asked to bo present at tho next meeting of the executive to explain points upon which delegates desire information. This course was adopted following a letter from Mr. W. S. Aldrich, in which ho pointed out some of tho higher costs that u'ere affecting farming. He mentioned that the freight on wool had gono up 6d a bale from Takapau to Port Ahuriri.
