GAOL FOR POSSTAL OFFICER YOUNG MARRIED MAN [by telegraph —ritEss Association] DUNEDIN, Tuesday A former postal officer at Gore, Raymond Hanna Lavender, aged 23, married, was to-day (sentenced at the Supreme Court to three months' imprisonment for the theft of four p6stal packets containing £2 10s. Accused had been in the postal service for 10 years. Mr. Justice Kennedy, iu. sentencing accused, said thefts of this kind threw suspicion on others and might be the cause of hardship to persons receiving money through the post and in need of that money.
