IMPENDING MARRIAGE CAREER OF MR. ROLF PORTER In view of his approaching marriage, Mr, Rolf Porter, secretary of the Akarana Golf Club, was presented with a handsome chiming clock from his fellow nembers at the closing day function ield last Saturday. The president of :he club, Dr. J. Aitken Paterson, paid i glowing tribute to the services renlered by Mr. Porter during the past sight years, and wished him success in ;he future. Mr. Porter expressed his ippreciation and reforred to the happy ■elations that existed between the menijers and the executive at all times. Golf is not the only sport in which Mr. Porter is interested. For the Sast 12 years he as taken an active part in the affairs of the Auckland Rowing Club, and was a member of the senior four which won the New Zealand championship in March, 1933, while he has also done well in pair-oar competition and represented hi s club in this class at the Dominion championships at Wanganui last season. Mr. Porter is also treasurer of the Auckland Wrestling Association, and secretary of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. His wedding will take place at St. Peter's Church, Hamilton, on Saturday week to Miss Alison G. Hooker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Hooker, of Hamilton.
