MOTOR COLLISION CASES
DRAIN ON COURTS' TIME COMMENT BY JUDGE H ■ [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] NELSON, Tuesday If civil cases arising from motor collisions could be abolished, the number of judges on the Supreme Court Bench could be reduced, was an opinion expressed by Mr. Justice Reed in opening the Nelson session of the Supreme Court. His Honor said it was a matter for congratulation to the Grand Jury and citizens that thero was no criminal work before the Court. Further, it was a matter for gratification that thero were no civil actions involving collisions between motor-cars. "We who have experience in North Island towns find that days are taken every session with those cases/' said His Honor. "To find an area or district with no such case for this sitting is v.ery gratifyiug. If collision cases could be done away with there could be a reduction in the number of Judges."
