RAIN IN THE NORTH

.BENEFIT JO PASTURES HAIL IN SOME DISTRICTS [BT TELEGRAI»H —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI. Tuesday Commencing last night heavy showers of rain have fallen over the greater part of North Auckland. Although a drop in temperature took place when the rain fell it has not been cold enough to affect the benefit to the pastures. This spring in tho district has been remarkably dry and the lack of rain has been responsible for a shortage of feed, with n consequent decrease in production. Although there has not yet been sufficient rain that which has fallen has revived the pastures and removed the fear of feed shortage for the early summer. The cold to-day was such that in soidp areas hail fell.
