The forecast is for moderate southerly winds at first, from Taranaki and Hawke's Bay northward, elsewhere between northeast and north-west, strong in the south and freshening later about Cook Strait, also a change to south-westerly probable later in the liar south. Seas moderate to rather rough between East Cape and Castlepoint, south'of Cape Egmont and in Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate , and variable winds.in the northern area with slight seas, fresh to strong northwesterly winds and rough seas in the southern portion. The weather is likely to be cloudy to overcast in Westland and the far Kouth, with scattered rain developing, elsewhere mainly fair to cloudy. Temperatures mild to warm. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST MAINLY FAIR AND MILD The Government meteorologist issued to the Hekai.d last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Light to moderate and variable winds. Some scattered rains are probable, but the weather is likely to be mainly fair to cloudy and mild. 1 Seas slight to moderate. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Showery weather was experienced during the day, the night being cloudy. The vrind was light to moderate between south and east.
