"'V' •' V ' • IJ The weather report and forecast for New Zealand issited by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows: —An intense anti-cyclone lies centrally over the Tttsman Sea and extends across northern New Zealand. The forecast is for south-easterly winds in the far north, otherwise between northwest and south-west predominating, but sea breezes during the day in most coastal areas, mainly moderate. Seas slight on the east coast,, moderate on the west, and rather rough about Foveaux Strait, Eastern Tasman Sea: Light variablo winds in the northern portion, with slight seas, moderate to strong winds between northwest and south-west in the southern portion, with moderate to rather rough seas. The weather for the most part is likely to be fair to fine and warni. Cloudy at times, however, in western districts, with some shoWGrs in Westland and the far south.

FINE WARM CONDITIONS The Government meteorologist issued to the Hkraxd last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Light to moderate south- > erly to easterly winds. The weather is likely, to be fine and wsirm. Seas slight to moderate. WEEK-END WEATHER Auckland. —I'ine weather, with misty rain during the evening, was experienced on Saturday, the wind being moderate from the west. Conditions yesterday were fine and sunny, with a light to moderate southerly wind. The maximum temperature was 76 degrees and the minimum 60 degrees, fiaro- * metric pressure was high and steady. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.20 in. Midnight, Saturday .. .. 30.20 in. Wellington.—There was ideal weather during the week-end, it being very warm with continuous bright sunshine and a light north-westerly breeze. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 71.3 degrees and on Sunday 68 degrees. At 3 p.m. on Sunday the barometer read 30.01 in., having been almost steady for the preceding 24 hours. Christchurch. —The week-end was brilliantly fine with a strong easterly wind on Saturday afternoon and a light breeze on Sunday, which was very warm, the sun shining J'rom a cloudless sky all day.yThe barometer at 5 p.m. on Sunday read 30.00 in. Dunedin. —The weather was fine on Saturday. There was a light breeze from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees and the barometer was steady at 29.95 in. Similar conditions prevailed oti Sunday, when the maximum temperature was 69 degrees. The barometer rose to 30.00 in.
