GARDEN FETE
COLLEGE GIRLS' EFFORT In the vicinity of £IBO was raised by the girls of St. Cuthbert's College as the result of a garden fete held by them in-the college grounds on Saturday to raise money toward extending the school library. The idea of holding the fete originated among the girls, who organised the function, carried it through with every success, arranged and served at the various stalls, and also made many of the articles which were sold. The stalls were set out under the trees and the perfect weather contributed its share to the success of the effort; which was attended by a very lijrge number of parents of the girls and their friends. Interesting sideshows, including pony rides, Mere arranged by the girls and tea was served by them in the dining rooms of the college.
