A HAPPY REUNION

MOUNT ALBERT SCHOOL

PAST PUPILS FOREGATHER BANQUET AND SOCIAL EVENING Ex-pupils fro?n all parts of Auckland and surrounding districts completely filled\, the Reception Hall at the Farmers' Trading Company on Saturday night, when a banquet and social evening to celebrate the Mount Albert School reunion, 1870-1938, was held. It was an evening of many happy reunions and many groups of friends who had not met for some years shared reminiscences of school days. The birthday cake, which had been donated by ex-pupils, was designed as a book representing pages of the school's history, and had 68 steps, each representing 0110 year of service. The oldest lady ex-scholar present, Mrs. Francis Gribbin, cut the calie. After the banquet and honouring of toasts, a delightful programme was presented, comprising songs by Miss Marjorio Stewart, Miss Phyllis Gribbin, Mr. A. T. Dow and Mr. S. Duncan, 'cello solo by Mr. E. Laird, pianologuo by Mr. C. E. Howley, humorous items by Mr. Alan McElwain and Mr. Cyril Walker, a sketch by Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Burnett, and a chalk talk by Mr. Carter B. Storr. Mr. S. Jackson was the accompanist. The Official Party
