DISPUTE AT MILLERTON NO FRESH DEVELOPMENTS STATEMENT BY MANAGEMENT [by TELEGRAPH—rRESS association] WESTPORT, Sunday There have been no fresh developments over the week-end so far as the Westport Coal Company management knows concerning the dispute at the Millerton coal mine. The mine will apparently be idle again to-morrow. It is understood that two shiftmen who were asked to do picking and filling work declined unless paid an extra Is a day, as they claimed that this did not come within tho terms of their agreement. As no agreement was reached the mine was thrown idle on Thursday. The Millerton Miners' Union decided to refer the matter to the Buller disputes committee, an early settlement being hoped for.
