ACTION BY GOVERNMENT TREATMENT FOR DOGS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday The Government's policy for preventing the spread of hydatids, which was embodied in recent legislation, is being put into effect by regulations issued with the Gazette to-night. The Government has already purchased a supply of arecoline hydrobromide, and this will be supplied to local authorities on the basis of the number of dogs registered in each district. A supply of the drug will be given to each dog owner, sufficient to last a year, when the animal is registered, and an additional charge of Is will be made to cover the cost. The owner will also be given _ a set of printed instructions concerning the administration of the drug to the animal.
