fTAKAPUNA COUNCIL'S PLANS An offer of an increase in the discount on street lighting from 25 per cent to 33 1-3 per cpnt, provided the concession was utilised for the purpose of improving the street lighting, was received from the Waitomata ElectricPower Board by the Takapuna Borough Council. It was accepted, the council deciding to investigate the cost of installing sodium lighting from Belmont "to Hall's Corner. "It is a step in the right direction," said the Mayor, Mr. J. Guiniven. "As time goes on we can look forward to having all the main highways in the itorough sodium lighted."
